International Celiac Disease Symposium
The Celiac Disease Center at
Columbia University will host the XII
International Celiac Disease Symposium November
9-11, 2006 at the Hilton New York Hotel, NY.
The meeting, convened once every three years,
will feature leading experts who will discuss
the latest information on the epidemiology,
clinical manifestations, diagnosis,
pathogenesis, the impact of the diagnosis of
celiac disease, and therapy, both current and
future, of celiac disease. Members of the
ACDA will chair sessions at the conference and
are among the invited speakers.
FDA
Reports to Congress on Cross-Contamination
The FDA has submitted its
report to Congress on cross contamination with
food allergens during manufacturing an
distribution, and consumer preferences about
advisory labeling ("may contain. . .") The
report was required as part of the Food Allergen
Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA).

Dietitian Services
According to the 2006 benefit service plan, Blue Cross
Blue Shield Federal Employees Program (FEPBlue) now
provides benefits for
up to 4 visits per year for outpatient nutritional
counseling when billed by a covered provider. For
